Every second part of my week, I treat myself a day out to art shows, openings & coffee with friends. It’s a really good way to get myself out of my home studio and allow new connections and inspirations to happen. So I decide to do a weekly blog post about all the upcoming events along with round up from the previous week. If you miss anything I will have you covered with the photos I take.

Here is what this week looks like:

Last week, I met artist Ilona at her visible studio event, basically she and a bunch of artists have taken over the atrium in Federation Square as their temporary studio for a week. Ilona has been a really helpful person in my art journey, She runs workshops and mentoring session at the art room. I find her blog post about preparing press release is very helpful for emerging artists.

I was just on time to help Ilona out with a shoot while I was at visible studio, glad to be a tiny part of this.

There is a group show called “Joining forces” above Deans art on Lonsdale st, I arrived just before people coming in so I could take some photos of the space. It’s the first time I went to Top shelf gallery. Glad to see so many non-profit art space in Melbourne, it’s wonderful to live here isn’t it :) More photos in my Facebook album.

No Vacancy Gallery had a 5 Years Retrospective Show with an excellent line of artists. I had few giggles reading the artist statements. Find more photos of the show on my Facebook page.

Markit at Fed Square is at it again! The May edition has many new stalls as well as familiar faces. It was packed as shown in the photo!

I’m going to see Monet this coming Sunday so I went and had a look at everything else last Sunday. However NGV is giant as always so I didn’t make it to level 3. I did had a good nap at the giant cushions of Robin Rhode’s show “The Call of Walls”

It’s the first time having a drink out after I come back to Melbourne, and I had to try the Rekorderlig Passionfruit Cider when the waiter suggested it. It was an instant love :) I saw they have many other flavours available now, can’t wait to try them all.

Rekorderlig passionfruit cider is awesome
