Consume me slowly
Consume me slowly, Acrylic on panel, Sep 2013
Painting size: 50.8 x 40.5 cm
Framed size: 58 x 48 cm
Inspired by the case of Paul Yore in 2013, “consume me slowly” tells the story of how perception has changed so much in the last decade. The media is more than comfortable with Miley Cyrus’s tasteless act on stage in front of people of all ages, while Paul Yore was accused of producing “child porn” in his installation in a St Kilda Gallery. Personally I don’t think Paul’s work is anything more provocative than the 1956 text book with the game “poor pussy”. Much like the emperor’s new clothes, viewers shall see what they think they see.
