New painting
New painting
After all day of art history listening and painting, I’m pretty happy with my result here. It really feel good to take the time and do something slowly, just like Chris said, “therapeutic”. I made some new friends too over the weekend. We didn’t eat properly though, a lot of junk food, but it was fun. (That reminded me again to use some strawberry scents for my show because that way it’s another layer of sense we are playing with.)
Here you can see my paint mix and a little bit of my painting 🙂 |
It almost felt sinful doing art all day long without interruption I feel the need to do a little bit of commercial work to balance it out.
I have also cleared the garage a little bit so now I can spend more time here during the summer (It was getting messy last few weeks with Lilly, so I have done most of my work recently in the kitchen)
I recently discovered Khan Academy and it’s just awesome! You will find most of the subjects you will find in school and uni and they are broken into little videos for you to learn bits by bits. I love how these people teach in a casual tone. I’m not exactly good at art history but I really enjoyed the way they teach. It was great to go through the videos while painting because I feel so calm and patient when painting the details.

I have also grown a slow obsession with Big Bang Theory these days, always end up rewarding myself one or few episodes after a day of work. I haven’t watched TV series for a long time but I think scientists are just like artists, they are enlightened by their obsession. I agree the Sheldon and Penny theory too although I know it’s never gonna happen. Here is a photoshopped image done by someone unknown to show how good it would look.
Happy Monday.
