Balancing between dream and reality, Yeok‘s debut solo show, “In Search of Happiness” (at Off the Kerb Gallery in Melbourne, Australia) documented her journey starting a year ago when she started to pursue happiness in the form of art making.

A selection of sculptures, installations and paintings have come to life in the gallery space. Her portrait of Teer Wayde expressed her view on body image. “Root of the Problem” is a soft sculpture sitting on a rocking chair. Yeok worked on it towards the end of the preparation as a way to let go all her frustration in her personal life.

The show features several characters who are reflections of the people in Yeok’s life. You will also find various political messages behind her work, one particular work links back to her view on Paul Yore’s recent story.
