Champagne chair, pencil sketch, FAWN magazine, funeral, work routine, crazy french chic and a little magic

Last two weeks has been busy, the good kind of busy. We entered a champagne chair competition, I started on a pencil sketch, got interviewed by FAWN magazine, did a funeral for a poor bird who snap its neck on our window, discovered my perfect work routine, found a crazy french chic via So Frenchy so Chic in the Park, and created a proper teaser page for my website.

Here is a little song from La Menteuse to get you started, I wish I can lose it like her.

I saw this cool competition where you make a tiny chair from a champagne cork. Just when I was proud of the little lounge and stool we made, few days later, there were more awesome submissions by others blowed my mind, like this one and this one.

I have started a new pencil sketch about a little girl and the creepy bunny. I don’t like starting something new before finishing my Chris Corner, but the inspiration just hit me and I felt like I had to start it before it goes away.

Work in progress of a new pencil sketch, I don’t know what to call it yet. More progress will be uploaded on my Instagram. By the way, isn’t this instagram filter perfect for a chilling feel?

The highlight of last week was probably my interview with FAWN magazine. Basically this lady let me rant all about the good and bad and ugly of working from a home studio. If you are interested, you should read about it

My interview with FAWN magazine about pros and cons of working from home studio

Here is something bizarre: we saw at least 3 dead birds in the last 2 weeks. First one was in a fireplace of a holiday house we rented, the bird must had entered via the chimney and trapped there for weeks. The second one was in front of a friend’s place, broke its neck on the window in front of her door step, the third one was in the balcony of another friend’s place, also had its neck broken. By the end of it we realise this is not going to end unless we have a proper funeral for the bird, so that’s what we did:

I’ve also started a new work routine each day, this one actually worked for me (after trying out millions different routines) I discovered an app called 30/30, basically you can plan your day and avoid spending 2 hours on youtube, pace your work so you have some breaks in between. My schedule of the day looks like this at the moment:

Discovering my work routine

20m breakfast – 15m social network – 1h morning work – 15m break – 20m writing – 1h morning work – 45m lunch – 15m meditation – 1h art making – 15m break – 1h art making – 15m break – 1h evening work – 20m shower – 45m dinner (start the movie while eating) – 1h movie – 1h night work – 15m break – 1h night work – 15m break – 1h night work
Notice I don’t schedule on a set time so the timer starts whenever I wake up, which is great for someone like me who does not like to wake up at the same time everyday. It’s constantly modified depends on my day.

Last but not least, I have launched a little teaser for my artist website in 2013. I have never spent so much time working on a teaser page before, you will see a little magic after registering for interest. It’s going to be the first chapter of a never ending story.
