Noeline Sherwin moved from New Zealand to Melbourne in 1969. She exhibited linocuts and watercolours of Australian flora at the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia Exhibitions during the 1980s. Ray Choates Illustration Index to Australian Art, a La Trobe University Library Publication, 1990 is illustrated with seven of her floral linocuts. In 2007 she shared an exhibition of botanical art, Stitches and Stamens, with Sue Martin, textile artist. Noelines paintings have been included in all The Art of Botanical Illustration Exhibitions in Melbourne from 2000 to 2012. In 2010 her painting Mandragora officinarum was purchased by the Friends of the RBG, Melbourne for inclusion in the State Botanical Collection. Her clayboard painting Gymnocalycium baldianum sold at the Botanica 2013 Exhibition in Sydney.
