I enjoy working in a realistic and detailed way, and this subject area combines my interest in plant forms and rendering. I developed a special interest in including microscopic detail in my botanical studies after attending classes at the Royal Botanic Gardens. I also attended classes at Cranbourne Botanic Gardens and Jenny Phillips School of Art, Melbourne. I have exhibited widely, including 'The Art of Botanical Illustration' at FRBG Melbourne 2000 to 2012, Botanica 2010 to 2014, FRBG Sydney. In 2008 I was one of 3 artists awarded "The Celia Rosser Award' for an outstanding painting. The Doryanthes excelsa was chosen as the signature image for the Exhibition and The Royal Botanic Gardens Christmas Card. Images of my work have been included in The National Trust Diary 2009, 2011, 2014, and The Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne Calendar 2009, 2011, 2014.
