Kate Nolan

Kate is a Scientific/Natural History Illustrator who produces artworks with scientific content for private and public clients. Government agencies such as DNRE, ANCA and the ABRS have all used Kate and much work is still held by the Museum of Victoria. Her work is published in Lonely Planet and Lothian Books. Private commissions range from wedding bouquets to children’s pictures. Commercial work includes the popular ‘Megaspace’ children’s scrapbook cover. She now paints mostly for the private collector and exhibits regularly at the Sydney and Melbourne Royal Botanic Garden shows among others. Kate also teaches master classes in specialised aspects of botanical illustration at venues such as RBG’s , TAFE’s and private groups. Awards Honourable mention, the Celia Rosser Medal for Botanical Illustration 2010 Queen’s Trust award for Young Australians 1995. First Prize: Australian Entomological Society’s Insect Illustration National Competition, 1993 (Student section) and First Prize again, 1994 (Open section) Second Prize Open Section, AES’ IINC, 1995 Margaret Senior/National Parks and Wildlife Scholarship for Plant and Wildlife Illustration, 1993.
