Sandra Johnston

Sandra has always loved art and the wonderful creation of plants. She has combined the two over many years of creative effort. During the 70s and 80s was a successful member of the SA China Painters Assoc. Years slipped by raising a family, working full time and travelling the world extensively with her husband, not leaving much creative time. After visiting the 2011 Exhibition of the Friends of the Botanic Gardens Adelaide, Art Group, she was totally inspired by the awesome coloured pencil work by its members. Sandra joined the Art Group in 2012, and was totally hooked. Just 5 months after joining she lost her son, and her pencil drawing help fill the big space left in her life. In 2013, her art work was the hero image for bi-annual exhibition “Framing Nature” of the FBGA Botanical Art Group. Sandra has successfully exhibited in regional and metropolitan art exhibitions in SA over the past two years. She is always endeavouring to improve her skills and learn from workshops and her encouraging fellow members. GROUP EXHIBITIONS (last 5 years) Watershed Art Prize Salisbury 2012.
