We have two exciting opening this week, and the lovely night noodle market. Have to say Melbourne is proud to have Michael Peck on display.

The highlight of the night definitely goes to Michael Peck‘s show at Metro Gallery. My friend David Lee Pereira worked with him for the last 3 months and it’s great to see some ambitious projects brought into life. The opening night was heart warming and delightful. I’m particularly interested in Michael’s smaller works and sculptures. In general I think smaller works are more true to artist’s subconscious as they are less planned and curated closer to the opening night. “Love and Fear” is on until 14 Dec 2013. I’m always interested in smaller works

On the way to Chapman & Bailey to drop off my latest work, I walked pass tacit contemporary art, it’s a giant gallery space which can be divided into 5-7 spaces. I can imagine the opening nights will be quite a party.

New gallery in town, and this is a big one.

I saw this installation when I walked pass Art Centre. I liked the festive feel of it but then the structure didn’t quite make sense to me. There were digital panels installed inside, perhaps it would look better when the night is dark (and full of terror

Night Noodle Market is happening at Alexandra Gardens and it will be there until 30 Nov every night. It was very crowded and the queue can be long for some stalls, but having a meal on the grass in a warm evening can be very enjoyable.

Last but not least, I came across Gavin Brown‘s opening by accident. I saw Gavin’s work in Forty Five Downstairs a while ago. And this show is quite different from his last body of works. I like the way he put things together, always colourful and glam. I don’t generally like glamourous, but I found honesty in his work for some reason.
